I often wonder where I would be without the inspiration I have been given in my life. Would I be sitting here typing this? Would I have the beautiful family and friends that I do? Would I be anywhere close to the person I am today?
I can’t help but think about things like this because throughout my life I have had so many people who have inspired me. Whether it was to reach for my dreams or pull me up by my bootstraps when I had fallen, if it weren’t for some very special souls I wouldn’t be where I am today.
What would have happened if I hadn’t been put in Mr. Steen’s English class where I developed a love for poetry (and him!). What if I hadn’t grown up with so many family members who were always there to talk and help me when I needed? What about Professor Bill Hotchkiss who was my college English professor who was my greatest writing inspiration? His faith in me and my writing are what kept me writing. What about the friends I have been blessed with who have helped me through the hardest times in my life? Last but certainly not least is my Mom. She instilled in me and my four siblings a Faith in God that carried us through even our darkest hour. This is something I will be eternally grateful for.
I have been so blessed to have so many people who have inspired me. Through their love, advice, and experience, I have been able to overcome so many obstacles in my life to become someone I am proud to be. Even the smallest of gestures made a profound impact on my life. Just knowing that someone cared enough about me still brings tears to my eyes.
I hope one day that through my writing I am able to do for others what so many have done for me. I want to make a difference in the lives of others- to give hem some hope. If one person was inspired by my writing then I will have succeeded.
